Ghost works without an account or server. Your activities stay on your devices unless you choose to share a benchmark.
Information Ghost processes
Depending on the permissions you grant, Ghost may locally process GPS location, distance, time, pace, elevation, motion, steps, heart rate and workout data available through HealthKit. Goals, ghosts, results, records and achievements are also stored locally.
How it is used
This information measures an activity, compares it with a goal or ghost, shows progress and saves the result. Health data is not used for advertising, commercial profiling, sale or medical diagnosis.
Apple Watch
iPhone and Apple Watch locally exchange challenge settings, the required library and results through WatchConnectivity. This sync does not create an account or send data to the developer.
Sharing a ghost
A benchmark is exported only when you choose to share it. It contains no coordinates. It may include a name, date and movement metrics; heart rate is included only when you enable that option. The receiving app and sharing service apply their own policies.
Training advice with ChatGPT
If you choose a pace or distance coaching prompt, Ghost first shows a notice and only opens ChatGPT after you confirm. The prepared text summarizes up to five recent activities with distance, duration, pace, average heart rate, cadence, and elevation gain; it does not include GPS coordinates, name, or route. Ghost does not receive your conversation or retain this sharing. ChatGPT and any browser or app you choose apply their own privacy policies.
Retention and deletion
Information stays in local storage until you delete an activity, a benchmark or the app. Workouts saved to Health are managed separately in the Health app. Files you have already shared remain outside Ghost’s control.
Apple services
Ghost uses HealthKit, Core Location, Core Motion, AVFoundation and WatchConnectivity. This version has no Firebase, advertising, social-network or first-party analytics integration.
Security and changes
Local processing reduces transmission, but no storage method is completely secure. This policy will be updated if the app or its data processing changes.
Children
Ghost is not directed to children and does not knowingly request their personal information. Contact us if you believe a child’s data has been processed.
